We all must get involved in this cause… that is how they won the vote!

An amazing thing happened during the No on Prop 8 campaign. There was an impressive display of support from both within and outside our community, and the goal of this site is to keep that spirit alive and thriving!

Where does California stand?
Public opinion continues to change on the issue of gay marriage, and there are many encouraging signs that we are making progress in the court of public opnion. Read the facts about voter opinions and demographic breakdowns from the Public Policy Institute of California:

Take Action!

Do you know of an upcoming event? Be sure to post it to the Event Board using the Events tab. Create your own event and get people to attend! Remember, these events all start out as one person's idea. Get involved by creating your own action event! Spread the word and tell all your friends to keep fighting prop 8

Where do we go from here?
There is much discussion of why we lost this battle. It may be painful to admit, but there were many mistakes made during this campaign... from how long it took to get started, to creating a consistent message, and especially to the outreach done to some of the state's deep red territory and communities.

What do you think we can do to win over the hearts of Californians?

Subtle Everyday Biases In Your Face: Postage Stamps

Wedding (Rings), Special issue, May 1, 2009, Washington, DC, Postal Service

Today I went to my local Post Office to buy a stamp for an envelope I've been meaning to mail for several days. Paying the rent may be the one time each month that I require a stamp. So, I hadn't bought any stamps since the letter postage rate was increased to $0.44 cents.

Buying stamps is more of a hassle now if I have to go into the Post… Continue

Demand Obama Rescind Invitation to Homophobe

It is appalling that President-elect Barack Obama would invite California Pastor Rev. Rick Warren, an ardent supporter of Prop 8 and someone who is opposed to the equality of LGBT Americans, to give the invocation at his inauguration.

Demand President-elect Obama to immediately rescind this invitation.

Prohibition v. Prop 8

Hey everyone,

Its been 75 years since the government repealed Prohibition - the only other constitutional amendment that (arguably) took away the rights that had already been granted to citizens. (Albeit, those rights were simply assumed and had never been awarded via due process of the law and the Supreme Court). So, go out there and celebrate with a cocktail - or two - or 75.

And find some hope in this: if the right to liver damage and a DUI is a strong enough… Continue
